Spring In Paris

This original painting, “Spring in Paris,” painted exclusively for tonight's auction by Seattle artist Brooke Borcherding. The painting is 18x24 and done in acrylic with a gallery 1.5” deep image wrap-around edge, so that it need not be framed. Borcherding is a full-time award-winning artist at the age of 31, working out of her studio in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Her paintings focus on innovation, aesthetics, place, and perception.  Universal beauty and her ideal for “an art for the people” has influenced her deconstructed style of painting with her goal being to stimulate the human senses.  This analytical way of breaking up a scene into blocks of color and putting them back together is an engaging process that lets the viewer get lost in the artwork.  Over the past 8 years, as an exhibiting artist, Borcherding has most recently been awarded a prestigious prize for best oil/acrylic painting at the 2018 Carmel Plein Air Competition.  She is nationally and internationally collected and shows at galleries in 5 different states- Washington, California, Oregon, Utah, and Maine.  If you live in the Seattle area, you may also find her work in various local art walks in the spring and summertime. You can also see her work in the February 2019 issue of American Art Collector Magazine in the City Scape and Winter Land Editorials.

Seven Bells Classic Wooden Boat Cruise for Eight

A classic pilot-house cruiser, this 1929 Stephens Brothers boat was built in Stockton, CA, one of eight or nine boats using the same blueprints. Seven Bells has won the top restoration awards at classic wooden boat shows across the Pacific Northwest, from Victoria to Seattle. The boat was originally a private yacht, then served as an anti-submarine net tender in San Francisco Bay during World War 2, known by its Navy ID of YP121. The hull is of Port Orford Cedar, the house is teak, and the soles are fir. It has been reclaimed and fully restored twice, in 1947 and then in 1999, with many gallons of varnish and paint, much new wood, leather, and fittings. New Yanmar diesels were added in 2013. Seven Bells now is moored at the north end of Lake Union in Seattle. Along with several awards over the years, in July 2017, Seven Bells won the Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival People's Choice Award.

Enjoy this three-hour cruise for eight passengers on evenings or weekends - date to be negotiated.
